April Jewish Carnival is Up and Happy Mimouna

Today I want to wish a Happy Mimouna to those who celebrate! Though it was not the same as in past years, we still managed to celebrate a lockdown mimouna complete with homemade couscous, muflettot and Moroccan outfits straight from Morocco.

And thanks to Deborah Kalb for hosting the April Jewish Carnival:

At this difficult time for everyone amidst the global pandemic, and as we move closer toward the end of Passover, I'm honored to be presenting the April 2020 Jewish Book Carnival. The carnival, which appears on the 15th of each month, brings together an assortment of information on books with Jewish themes.

On gilagreenwrites, Deborah Mendez-Blaauw answers the question: How lonely is the life of a writer?
Magic and fantasy have become very popular of late. There's a Jewish element to Travels With Sushi in The Land of the Mind, reviewed by Batya on Shiloh Musings.
Jewish Books for Kids shares an interview with Israeli illustrator Menahem Halberstadt. He is the illustrator of A Basket Full of Figs. His work also appears in the popular TV show Shtisel.
Life Is Like a Library goes on a literary scavenger hunt in Jerusalem (answers in the next blog!).
On The Book of Life Podcast, host Heidi Rabinowitz is joined by her husband Matthew for a Family Meeting, catching listeners up on the podcast's special features and projects.
On her My Machberet blog, Erika Dreifus routinely compiles news of Jewish literary interest. Here's one recent post.
And here on my own blog, I've posted a Q&A with Rachel Biale about her new memoir, Growing Up Below Sea Level.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed, and good healthy wishes to all.
