REPOST: The Key Book Publishing Paths in 2021-2022

How should you publish your work? Traditionally? Self-publishing?

This is in the top five questions writers ask me on a monthly basis. So, thanks so much to the wonderful Jane Friedman for this detailed post on the many options authors have today to publish their work.

I have traditionally published since 2013 and, after four novel publications, I can tell you there's no right or wrong way to publish your work.

There's only the way that best meets your goals and the way that doesn't.

If you want to be a career author then your publishing path may be very different from the author who wants to put out one book, often to accompany their main career or to have a family history recorded in one place.

I couldn't write the information you need better than Jane Friedman, so here's my public thank you and strong recommendation to review this article. The chart is particularly useful. Way to go, Jane.
